Stay warm and save money this winter

For the third year, we have worked in partnership with community groups to set up Warm Welcomes across the county. There are over 80 venues, including libraries, village halls, and community spaces.

Since opening on 1 November 2024, over 11,000 ÄûÃʵ¼°¹ residents have attended Warm Welcome venues, getting a free hot drink, energy advice, winter essential items and much more.

• Over 1,700 fuel vouchers distributed
• Over 8,300 essential items given out. These include electric blankets and keep warm packs which contain items including hats, gloves and blankets.
• Over 3,800 residents have been given energy and debt advice from ÄûÃʵ¼°¹ Community Action, Citizen's Advice and trained volunteers.
• Over 3,700 meals and food bank referrals provided

Activities and free items

Each venue offers something different. Some have breakfast and lunchtime clubs, afterschool activities, and creative sessions like board games and knitting. Free items like hats, thermal socks, gloves, electric blankets, and fuel vouchers are also available (subject to availability).
