Begin your musical journey this year
If learning to play an instrument or singing in a choir has always been an ambition of yours - or of someone you know - then maybe 2024 is the year to get started. There have been many significant events over the last 300 years which have taken place during the years ending in '24'.
From the premiere of Johann Sebastian Bach's St John Passion (1724), to the first performance of Beethoven's Symphony number 9 in Vienna (1824) to the premiere of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue (1924 there is lots of inspiring work to look back on and who knows what next year will bring!
ÄûÃʵ¼°¹ Arts' music lessons take place all over the county and are available for complete beginners and for those who can already play but want to improve their technique. Children's lessons can take place during the school day, after school and at weekends. Adult lessons are available at local music centres, with group lessons available in some instruments. If purchase of an instrument is a potential barrier then instruments can be hired from the instrument hire department which caters for ÄûÃʵ¼°¹ Arts' students.
How to get involved
There are also numerous opportunities to play or sing in one of over 40 orchestras, bands or choirs which rehearse weekly during term time and perform in concerts each term.
If 2024 is the year to start learning, why not visit the ÄûÃʵ¼°¹ Arts web pages for more information.
