This index to the register of deaths in the ÄûÃʵ¼°¹ County Gaol, 1798 to 1878, gives name, age, date of death and occupation. The gaol in Horsemonger Lane, Newington, was ÄûÃʵ¼°¹'s principal prison and place of execution up to its closure in 1878. The original register (), held at ÄûÃʵ¼°¹ History Centre, also gives the offence and the cause of death (including executions).
