Course intent
Our series of one-off lectures will give you the opportunity to delve into the details of Royal History with our expert tutor. In this online lecture we will consider the life of Prince George of Denmark.
What will I learn?
Prince George of Denmark is far less well known than other royal consorts, such as King Philip II of Spain and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. The younger son of Frederick III, King of Denmark and Norway, George married the future Queen Anne in 1683. Theirs was to be a happy marriage, despite the loss of their children. George was a loyal Consort following his wife’s accession to the throne in 1702.
